Different Church Strategies

On the weekend Tim did a sermon on the Why, How and What of Soul Revival (you can check that out on Youtube to get to know us better).

Based on this sermon, here’s a pictorial account of different church strategies. If you want to chat more about the differences and how these strategies impact church practice, feel free to reach out to Tim. His contact is on the website or you can find him any week at our Sunday Morning gathering at Kirrawee.

Soul Revival Church Yarrawarrah

As the weather begins to warm up, now is a great time to check out Soul Revival Church Yarrawarrah. We meet across the road from the Yarrawarrah shops alongside the iconic windmill, in the Community Hall on the corner of Old Bush Road and Laurina Avenue.

We start off with some coffee at 8:30 am before having an open air gathering at 9:00 am. While our formal gathering doesn’t have music yet, we enjoy praying, reading God’s word and hearing a short bible talk. We follow that up with the best bacon and egg rolls in Yarrawarrah, and awesome chats as we reach out as a community to those who walk by.

We have a number of opportunities to connect up with people because of what we are doing and the space we are in. We’d love to invite you to partner with us if you’re able to.

If you’d like to find out more or get involved just come along or message Jai at jai@soulrevivalchurch.com.

Parables

DO NOT WAIT. Choose Between Endless Joy or Endless Suffering

Jai uses the Parable of the Weeds to ask what you will be when the day of judgement comes? Weed or Wheat?

The Shock Absorber

What Are We Being Distracted From at Church?

Tim and Joel use a question from Tim’s Effective Ministry podcast as a springboard into a discussion on why we come to church and what our expectations are for church. Certain factors have possibly lead to a strong focus on cognitive engagement with the preached word of God. While essential for Christian formation, it perhaps has lead to a diminished focus on the other reasons we meet at church.

Chip Lunch

Not yet…

It was Zac’s turn on the podcast to tell his story which includes growing up at church, leaving church and coming back to church and why the answer was “not yet” for a while.

Our Current Series

As a church we’re currently looking at parables that Jesus told. A parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. During Jesus’ ministry, parables were a key part of His teaching style. Through parables, Jesus communicated the awesome truth of the Gospel in short and often perplexing stories like this one.

Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
– Luke 15:3-7

fashion at the factory – 24 sept 2022

Saturday 24 September | 8.30am – 12.30pm

Kirrawee Campus: 40A Flora Street Kirrawee

Soul Revival Church has been blessed to be given garments by Cue Clothing over the years. These garments are seconds or out-of-season stock. We have sold these at an event we call Fashion at the Factory.

We have raised over $60,000 which has gone primarily to our aboriginal partners in Brewarrina, helping to support purchases like the bus used for their youth group and the fit-out for their church which is used to support the local community.

Plants, courtesy of Chris and Barb Sargeant will be for sale as well.

No Services at Kirrawee, Cronulla or Yarrawarrah 8-10 July 2022

There will be no gatherings this weekend (8- 10 July) at any of our regular locations. This is because this weekend marks the beginning of Week Away – our annual holiday together. Instead, all our services will be held at the Shoalhaven Campsite instead of our regular locations.

For those not coming away this year, there are plenty of Soul Revival sermons online on Spotify or you could visit the Soul Revival Youtube Channel and check out one of our Chip Lunch or Shock Absorber podcasts if you are not getting down to Week Away this year.

All gatherings will be back next week at our usual times and locations.

Easter Services 2022

Celebrating Easter together at Soul Revival Church

Easter is a special time for all who follow the Risen Lord Jesus. It’s extra special for us at Soul Revival Church because it is one of the times of year that our 6 gatherings across 4 campuses join together as one Church.

This year, we will celebrate as one Church over 3 days with a gathering on each day.

GOOD FRIDAY (April 15)

We kick off our Easter Weekend on Good Friday to celebrate the victory Jesus won for us on the cross. There will be plenty of Hot Cross Buns to be enjoyed afterwards.

9:30 am at the Factory, 40A Flora Street, Kirrawee

EASTER SATURDAY (April 16)

Come and enjoy a coffee and a chat from 5:00 pm as we celebrate Easter Saturday together. Then stay back for dinner after the gathering.

5:00 pm at the Factory, 40A Flora Street, Kirrawee

EASTER SUNDAY with BAPTISMS (April 17)

On Easter Sunday we celebrate that Jesus is Risen and the new hope we have in Him.

8:30 am – bacon and egg rolls

9:30 am – open-air service by the river

10:30 am – baptisms

Swallow Rock Reserve, Grays Point

Please note that the ground is wet and muddy in patches. It would probably be best to bring a chair rather than a picnic rug.

Parking is limited so we suggest the following:

  • Park at Grays Point Soccer Oval and be transported down to Swallow Rock Reserve in a shuttle bus we have hired. The shuttle bus will run from 8 am – 9.30 am. A return shuttle bus will run from 11.00 am
  • Park nearby and walk down to Swallow Rock Reserve.

Please note, that if there are any changes to our Easter celebration at Swallow Rock due to the weather, we will post changes on our Facebook page.
