Our Story Since 2012, we’ve been doing all we can to share the good news of Jesus with everyone everywhere. We are on a mission to create a new (but old) kind of church, where people are friends across generations, races, and cultures. Each of our gatherings are a little different from each other, but they all share the same heart.

Here’s our story so far:

Soul Revival Church began in the early 1990s as a youth group at Gymea Anglican Church in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire. Led by Stuart and Louise Crawshaw, we started with just four teenagers in 1992, growing to over 500 by the decade’s end. Our focus on discipleship and mission laid the foundation for a church that now reaches communities across Sydney.

In 2012, we planted Soul Revival Church at the invitation of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney under Evangelism & New Churches (ENC). Establishing our home at The Factory in Kirrawee, we embraced our “all age, all stage” vision: sharing Jesus’ truth and love person to person, generation to generation, culture to culture, and place to place. Recognised in 2018 as an Anglican Church without boundaries, we expanded to Cronulla, Yarrawarrah, Miranda, and Ryde, growing to seven gatherings across five locations.

Our partnership with Miranda Congregational Church has been a unique and exciting step, uniting Anglican and Congregational traditions to rebuild thriving ministries. Supported by Archbishop, Bishop, Tim Forskett, and Mike from the Congregational Fellowship, this collaboration testifies to the gospel’s power to unite.

We’ve also built strong friendships with local churches, partnering with Cronulla Anglican to launch a youth group, serving on the local scripture board, and supporting mission work through City Bible Forum, and global outreach across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

Our Service Team System strengthens our church life through ten teams, each led by central and gathering coordinators, forming the Soul Revival Council to guide ministry alongside pastors and elected representatives.

For over 20 years, we have nurtured friendships with Aboriginal Christian communities, attending river conventions in Brewarrina, Collarenebri, and Walgett—gatherings of faith, worship, and shared cultural heritage.

We have grown annual church-wide events deepen our community:

  • Easter on the River at Swallow Rock, with baptisms in the river.

  • July Church Holiday at Waterslea Anglican Conference Centre, where 250+ members enjoy teaching, music, and fellowship.

  • Carols in the Park at Kirrawee, drawing over 1,000 people, alongside multiple Christmas services.

We have also been blessed to see growth in our ministry to young people, who we see not as the church of tomorrow but as the church of today. We began with just one teenager in 2012, and through God’s generosity, our youth ministry has grown to over 100 teenagers across two sites—Miranda and Kirrawee—where young people encounter Jesus and grow in faith.

From a small handful of children, our kids’ ministry has grown to nearly 100 children across all our gatherings. We now have a full-time children’s pastor, and a part-time youth minister.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to growing discipleship, mission, and resources. At our 2022 Planning Day, we launched Double Up 2030, preparing for the potential of 1,000 members by 2030. With God’s continued generosity, we trust that Jesus will grow His church, and we are privileged to partner with Him in this mission—because Jesus Changes Everything.
